Of course Lovecraft made his way onto my reading list. He is, after all, called the “master of horror” by some. I prefer King and Poe, but these Lovecraft tales still made for an enjoyable read.
It took a
while for me to slog through this book. It isn’t long. It isn’t particularly dense.
Other matters just interfered with my reading time.
At this point,
we know enough about Lovecraft without me adding my voice to the mix. If you
enjoy horror, I recommend reading this. If you’re pressed for time, it isn’t
something you necessarily have to bother reading. It’s an enjoyable read. Go
pick it up if you’re curious.
American
writer H.P Lovecraft (1890 – 1937) is cited often as a horror inspiration. He
may be best known for his Cthulhu Mythos.
“The oldest
and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of
fear is fear of the unknown.” – Lovecraft
“That is not
dead which can eternal life. And with strange aeons even death may die.” –
Lovecraft
