A Brew for February
Please,
come in, out of the cold. We have a fresh shipment of teas to carry you through
February. Have a look. See if anything catches your eye. And do be careful. Some
of our brews have been known to swallow the inadequate and trap the unprepared.
Yes, the pink hearts are a sickeningly festive, but we had to do something for Valentine's. And I don't care enough to do anything more. Onto our brews, now.
Over
here, we have some stimulating brews to nourish that insomnia habit:
The Burning World by Isaac Marion

Dark purple, thick, pinpoints of
light. A dynasty, a galactic war, and this is not Star Wars. We expect a follow-up from the brewer soon.
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
With this shipment, we have a debut
brewer. This brew promises to liven your senses. It’ll go down fast and smooth.
Do you like pirates?
Gilded Cage by Vic James
It’s beautiful, no doubt. Let’s hope
it bears up to appearances. I know, I know. Never judge a brew by its cover,
but one is never immune. Look here’s a treat. A silver, fine-lettered inscription.
Beware the goblin men and the wares they
sell.
The Clairvoyants by Karen Brown
Do you believe in ghosts? This brew could
make you see some things.
A madman and a surgery—do you know
how this one goes? Drink it fast and hot. It might keep you up through the
night, but you’re an insomniac anyway, right?
Beside
it, we have a few smoother, heartwarming blends:
Sad Perfect by Stephanie Elliot
A brew to take with your meal. It
could be prone to the usual romance-heavy element in contemporary brews. But,
I’ve heard some good things. Say, what do you know of Avoidant/Restrictive Food
Intake Disorder?
Swimming Lessons by Claire Fuller
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella
This is the type of brew for curling
up on the couch.
For a girl living in a poor
neighborhood, life can be tough. After witnessing a shooting? Well, you should
find out yourself.
Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders
Where were you when Abraham Lincoln
lost his son?
King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard
The third installment in a popular
series. You know of it, don’t you?
Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman
A Conjuring of Light by V.E. Schwab
I remember the first brew in this
series, and it was to die for. Now, we have the third and final piece.
Look a while, find your brew. I hope you find what you seek. Remember, this is not
an exhaustive tour of our supply. Several other brews are coming in for February; this is just a sample. Here, I’ll light the candles.
