Rating System
Why are you here? Pure curiosity? Browsing? Lost? Rating systems are fairly straightforward, and you will find no surprises here. If you must know, however, here is how I will rate books on this site:
x/5
x = a number between 0 and 5, including decimals
So, possibly, two differences. Fine, I sort of lied. Let's move on. Most rating systems do not dip all the way to zero, but considering some of the books I have read, I feel the need to include it. The decimals allow for a little more nuance. What if a book is surely better than one I rated as three but not good enough for a four? Easy, use a decimal, as I do here.
0/5
Never will I support burning, censoring, or otherwise abolishing a book; even a bad one can inform writers what not to do. Yet, if I had to doom one, this would be it
1/5
Excruciating agony
2/5
Neither terrible nor good
3/5
I liked it, but not enough to reread the book or finish the series unless I have the extra time
4/5
An impressive, enjoyable book, probably reread or finish the series
5/5
Love; come over and we can discuss hypotheses through the night
